NORTHAMPTON, Pa. – A body was found in the Lehigh River in the Northampton area on Saturday, according to the Lehigh County Coroner. 

Recovery teams were called to the area of Canal Street Park, coroner Dan Buglio said. 

There has been no confirmation at this point of the identity of the person who was recovered. 

On Thursday, a man was seen by authorities going into the Lehigh River in the Northampton area to avoid arrest after being served a warrant. 

The man was seen going into the river and was never seen coming out, according to officials. 

As of Friday, the man who fled police by going into the river was still missing. 

Coroner Dan Buglio could not confirm if the body that was found is connected to the search on Thursday.
