Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins New & Notes:
The Penguins lost in overtime on Saturday to the Phantoms, 4-3. In their previous five games, the Penguins have a 0-2-3-0 record, scoring 2.4 goals per game while conceding 3.6. They now have a 6-0-1-1 record against the Phantoms this season. The Penguins have a five-point lead over the Charlotte Checkers for the second seed in the Atlantic Division, but Charlotte does have a game in hand. If the Penguins can hold off Charlotte, they will get the first-round bye and wait for the winner of the best-of-three series between the Atlantic’s four and five seeds.
Lehigh Valley Phantoms New & Notes:
The Phantoms made it two straight wins after beating the Penguins in overtime 4-3 on Saturday. In their last five games, the Phantoms have a 2-2-1-0 record, scoring 3.8 goals per game while allowing 3.8. They improved their season record against the Penguins to 2-6-0-0 on the year. The Phantoms currently hold the five seed in the Atlantic Division with a two-point lead over the Bridgeport Islanders and have a game in hand. With only four points separating the Phantoms from the Hershey Bears and the fourth seed in the Division, the Phantoms also have a game in hand over the Hershey Bears. Still time for some shifting in seeding before the playoffs start.
