The Philadelphia Eagles had a strange season last year. They were dealing with AJ Brown turmoil for the entirety of the season, and the offense constantly seemed to be sputtering.

After a Super Bowl season, they were unceremoniously dethroned in the first round by the San Francisco 49ers. It was clear that there were issues that needed to be addressed, and this offseason, they started making those changes.

One of the first moves they made to address the offensive turmoil of last season was by firing offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo within 24 hours of losing to the 49ers. Philadelphia chose to replace Patullo with Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion.

Recently, franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts had some comments regarding his newest offensive coordinator, and they have Eagles fans excited about what’s to come this season.

When the Eagles brought in their previous offensive coordinator, Kevin Patullo, Jalen Hurts didn’t have quite the same reaction after working a bit with him.

Hurts is on record saying, “He would have a different role,” and alluded to how the role of offensive coordinator demanded something completely different from him.

When asked about Sean Mannion the other day, Hurts’ excitement to work with Mannion was so infectious that it has Eagles fans excited as well.

Per Zach Berman, Jalen Hurts said, “He’s amazing. I’m excited for what’s to come. Obviously, things have been limited given the timing of everything.” Quite the contrast in how he’s speaking about his new offensive coordinator vs his last. He can feel that things are about to be much more fun.

Last season, Hurts threw for 26 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions; one of the best ratios of his career. Could we see him play even better under Sean Mannion this upcoming season?

It’s still yet to be seen what the Eagles will do with star wide receiver AJ Brown, but for the time being, the Eagles’ offense could be back to being a league-wide powerhouse. They’ll still have the phenomenal duo of Hurts and Barkley in the backfield, and as of today, they’ll also have stellar TE Dallas Goedert back.

It will be interesting to see if the hype and excitement match the product on the field next season.
