The LECOM Medical Fitness and Wellness Center is preparing to reopen its doors to the public today for the first time since March 2020, when the facility closed at the onset of the COVID‑19 pandemic.

While LECOM students regained access in 2021 and employees followed in 2022, community members have been unable to return for nearly six years.

During the extended closure, the fitness center underwent significant upgrades. Staff say the facility has added brand‑new cardio equipment and completed full redesigns of both its regular and premium locker rooms. Additional renovations and improvements have also been made throughout the building.

According to staff, the updates are part of a broader effort to modernize the center and create a more comfortable, user‑friendly experience for members.

After years of limited access, employees say they are excited to welcome the public back into the space and reintroduce the community to the revamped facility.
