WYOMISSING, Pa. — The borough manager of Wyomissing has announced her resignation after 18 years of service.

The Borough Council announced the resignation of Borough Manager Michele Bare on Tuesday. She will remain in her role as manager for the next three months while the council searches for her successor, officials said. 

“Michele’s career with the Borough has been defined by commitment, professionalism, and a genuine passion for public service. Throughout her tenure, she served the community in several capacities across multiple departments before being appointed Borough Manager more than four years ago. In every role, Michele brought thoughtful leadership, steady guidance, and an unwavering focus on delivering high-quality municipal services to residents,” the borough said in a statement. 

As Borough Manager, Michele helped guide the organization through complex projects, operational improvements, and evolving community needs, according to a news release.

“While her next chapter will take her in a new direction, she leaves with the respect, appreciation, and admiration of Borough Council, staff, and the community she has faithfully served,” the borough said. 

Borough Council President Kristen Gajewski stated, “As a woman in municipal leadership, Michele has been an inspiration to many who aspire to serve their communities. I am deeply grateful for her years of dedicated service to the Borough, where she consistently demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and tireless commitment to our staff and residents. While we are saddened by her decision, we respect this exciting next chapter and sincerely appreciate her willingness to remain with the Borough to ensure a smooth transition. Michele’s leadership has left a lasting and meaningful impact on our community. On behalf of the Borough, Council extends its heartfelt thanks to Michele for her integrity, leadership, and lasting contributions to Wyomissing. The community wishes her continued success and fulfillment in the years ahead.”
