ARMORE, PA — An emerging chain of bagel shops is planning a major Philly-area presence, starting with a location coming soon to Ardmore.
PopUp Bagels plans to open in Ardmore this Friday at 10 Coulter Ave.
The launch is part of a larger initiative to establish 10 total storefronts throughout Philadelphia, South Jersey, and Delaware. The brand, which originated in Connecticut in 2021, grew from a backyard operation into a chain with locations in several states.
PopUp Bagels focuses on high-traffic, energetic urban and suburban communities for its retail spaces. Each shop typically spans 1,100 square feet and is designed to accommodate walk-ins, advance orders and catering services.
The company serves bagels hot, whole, and directly from the oven without pre-slicing or sandwich prep. Instead, customers are encouraged to grip, rip and dip their bagels.
Each shop maintains a consistent menu featuring weekly “schmear” flavors.

PopUp Bagels now has shops throughout the Northeast, plus California and a few Southern states. Reaching Greater Philadelphia marks a step in the company’s ambitions to expand nationwide.
“We’ve seen so much excitement from Philadelphia leading up to this opening,” CEO Tory Bartlett said in a statement. “We’ve long wanted to plant roots in Philly, and contribute to the city’s rich food culture and passionate local community. We look forward to bringing our bagels to Ardmore and becoming a part of the neighborhood.”
