HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN CO. (WOLF) — Gas prices across Pennsylvania continued to rise Tuesday, March 17, marking the 19th day in a row of increases at the pump as global oil concerns persist.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Pennsylvania reached about $3.74 per gallon on March 17, up from roughly $3.72 on Monday, March 16. The increase extends a streak of more than two weeks of steady price hikes statewide.

The national average also ticked up slightly, now sitting around $3.74 per gallon, as instability in global oil markets continues to influence fuel costs.

Energy analysts point to ongoing disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz as a major factor. The key shipping route typically handles about 20% of the world’s oil supply, and recent security concerns have slowed tanker traffic and complicated exports.
