Pennsylvania leaders say they are making sure first responders are getting the benefits they need.
They talked Tuesday about a new law that’s helping police officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI).
They discussed coverage offered under the Workers’ Compensation Act, which went into effect last fall.
They include events linked to death, serious injury, threats to life, or mass casualty incidents.
The coverages are investments in Governor Shapiro’s budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
