OBITUARY
Kathleen V. Graff, 74, a lifelong resident of Scranton, passed away peacefully on, March 14th, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia.
She was born May 19, 1951, in Scranton, Pa. to the late Edward J. Kelly Sr. and Katherine V. (McDonnell) Kelly.
Kathleen was a graduate of South Catholic High School and IMB Computer School. Kathleen’s work history included many years of employment at West Side Bank, Scranton and was a member of the American Institute of Banking. Prior to retirement she was a dedicated employee with Emery Air Freight.
Kathleen had a beautiful soul, a bright smile and love for children. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grand-mother, aunt, sister and best friend. She would always share a pot of tea and cookies with anyone that came to visit. Her chocolate cream pie was a big favorite of her nieces and nephews. When asked she would never hesitate to help anyone and always had a kind word. A woman of deep faith and great devotion to the Blessed Mother, she was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish.
Kathleen cherished her family. She is survived by her loving husband Joseph K. Graff, blessed with 37 years of marriage. Her son James J. Graff, and wife Jamie and two grandchildren Violet Rae and Miles James.
Kathleen is also survived by ten siblings. Maureen Rucolas, Wheeling, IL; William Kelly and wife, Ann Marie, Madisonville; Nancy Gownley, Scranton; Edward Kelly Jr. and wife, Joyce, Thornhurst; Kevin Kelly and wife, Rose, Madisonville; Patricia Connolly and husband Jerome, Roaring Brook Twp; Donna Arnold and husband Russ, Olyphant; Joseph Kelly and wife Lori, Roaring Brook Twp; Brian Kelly and wife Maureen, Gouldsboro; Frank Kelly and wife Lori, Prince Frederick, Maryland. Brothers-in-law John Graff and wife, Joanne, Whitehall; Michael Graff and wife, Pam, Scott Twp. Kathleen was the proud Aunt to her 36 nieces and nephews and 51 great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law Ronald Rucolas, Atty. Robert T. Gownley, Jr. and William Graff.
The family would like to thank Lori Kelly and Shannon Kaspriskie, family nurses, and the team of doctors and nurses at Thomas Jefferson Hospital for their exceptional care.
The funeral will be on Saturday, March 21st, With Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., Scranton. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Neil W. Regan Funeral Home, 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton, PA.
Interment will be at the Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers because of Lenten season the family requests memorial contributions go to charities of your choice.
