Rosalie Wisniewski
OBITUARY
Rosalie Wisniewski, 95, a lifelong resident of Montdale, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, at the Green Ridge Healthcare Center, Scranton. She was the widow of Leonard Wisniewski, who passed away on May 11, 2011.
Born in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Julia Victor Krzan, and was a member of St. John Vianney Church, Montdale. She was a graduate of Scott High School.
Rosalie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life revolved around her family. She worked briefly in the garment industry; however, her true legacy was found in her role as the matriarch of the family. Married to Leonard, the love of her life, for 62 years, Rosalie found her greatest happiness in raising her three sons, nurturing her seven grandchildren, and cherishing her eight great-grandchildren. Her unwavering love made her the treasure of the family. Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed.
She kept a meticulous house, always decorated for the holidays and was a talented cook and baker. Her pierogies and piggies were always a welcome gift, and she made endless batches of chocolate chip cookies for the grandkids. Her freezer was always filled with sweets, and she never went to a party without her famous tray of cookies or brownies.
Rosalie was also a treasured sister and aunt. She cherished the special bonds she shared with her siblings and their families, finding great joy in countless family gatherings over the years. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rosalie is survived by her loving sons: Ronald Wisniewski and his wife Kathy, residing in Kissimmee, Florida, and Robert Wisniewski and his wife Roberta of Old Forge. Her cherished grandchildren include Michelle Pochas and her husband Eric of Greenfield Township; Lenny Wisniewski and his wife Jen of Olyphant; Scott Wisniewski and his wife Brandi of Santa Teresa, New Mexico; Sarah Calachino and her husband Tim of Saint Augustine Beach, Florida; Matthew Wisniewski and his wife Kera of Nazareth; and Janel Parncutt and her husband Ronny of Dallas. Rosalies legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Evan and Jackson Pochas, Leo and Mya Wisniewski, Aria Wisniewski, Holden Parncutt and Amanda Novack. She is also survived by a brother Walter Krzan, and a sister Pearl Tratthen, both of Montdale, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved family, son Leonard Wisniewski Jr, grandson Brian Wisniewski and great-granddaughter Lily Parncutt; sisters, Helene Panunzi, Anna Mae Stracham and Eleanor Zawacki; and brothers, Joseph Krzan Sr. and Anthony Krzan Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Rosalie at 10am on Thursday, March 19th, in Corpus Christi Church at St. John Vianney Parish, Scott Twp.
