PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Youth mental health was front and center in Philadelphia on Monday.
Educators, students, families and community leaders gathered to find ways to increase support.
Even with Pennsylvania’s youth mental health network, they say many children are still waiting for help with limited preventative support.
“Strong Minds, Bright Futures” is working with Ignite Philly, collaborating to find solutions.
The event featured reflections from three Philadelphia students who shared their lived experiences navigating the mental health system.
The attendees explored the challenges, shared ideas, and worked to identify meaningful ways to get involved in making change.
For immediate mental health help, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline offers 24-7 access to compassionate, trained professionals.
The Lifeline has 988 counselors that are available 24 hours a day to talk you through it.
