MOOSIC, Pa. — Millions of people are affected by Alzheimer’s Disease, which is a brain disorder that affects the memory. 

In Pennsylvania, there are more than 282,000 people living with Alzheimer’s and more than 465,000 family members caring for them. On Saturday, hundreds of people will take steps for a cure at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at PNC Field in Moosic.  

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Alzheimer’s Association.  The Scranton Wilkes-Barre walk hopes to raise $135,000. The money goes towards Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. 

Newswatch 16’s Nikki Krize will emcee the event. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held on Saturday, October 18, at PNC Field in Moosic. Registration starts at 9 a.m., and the ceremony starts at 10.
