DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) — A final salute will take place on Wednesday morning for fallen Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Timothy O’Connor Jr.

Hundreds of people, including police officers from departments across the area, paid their respects at a public viewing on Tuesday.

A massive American flag hung from two firetrucks outside St. Joseph’s Church in Downingtown as a reminder of Corporal O’Connor’s contributions to his community.

“It’s important that I bring my entire team down here to show that honor and that reverence to his family that his work matters. That he mattered,” said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel.
