SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A New Jersey man is being held in Lackawanna County following his arrest on multiple serious charges, including allegations involving a firearm and an assault on law enforcement.
According to court records, 21-year-old Gregory Oliver Hilton of West Orange was taken into custody March 14 by University of Scranton police.
Investigators say Hilton is facing several charges, including aggravated assault and assault of a law enforcement officer involving the discharge of a firearm. Additional charges include trespassing, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
Authorities have not released details about the circumstances leading to the incident.
Hilton was arraigned and is currently being held at the Lackawanna County Prison after failing to post $10,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 24 as the case moves forward through the court system.
