Matthew Cohen and Paul Dominick won singles matches in straight sets, leading Scranton Prep to a season-opening win over Wallenpaupack, 5-0, on Wednesday in the Lackawanna League.

Scranton Prep’s doubles teams of Anthony Delayo-Myles Frieder and Keelin Kirby-Liam O’Boyle also had wins.

Boys volleyball

Isaiah Jones had 11 kills, and John Heitsman added nine kills, leading Elk Lake to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-19) win over Lackawanna Trail in a nonleague match.

Jayden Wasch contributed seven aces and four kills, while Josh Astacio had 27 assists, and Xavier Davis had three kills for the Warriors (1-1).

Rylee Laubach paced Lackawanna Trail with 14 assists. Holden Edwards added eight digs, and Trevor Wert had seven kills, nine points, and nine digs for the Lions (0-2).

Girls lacrosse

Sara Womach scored four goals, including the 100th of her career, and Cadence Rindock had five saves, earning her 400th of her career in Lake-Lehman’s 16-5 win over Delaware Valley in a Wyoming Valley Conference opening season match.

Olivia Corcoran and Olivia Oliver each had five goals for Lake-Lehman (1-0).

Savannah Liz and Mackenzie Heath each scored two goals to pace Delaware Valley (0-1).
