The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of two teams two propose rule changes sent league-wide ahead of the Annual League Meeting taking place in just two weeks.

The Cleveland Browns were the first team to propose a change, their proposal being teams can trade draft picks up to five years into the future. The Steelers were the second.

“The Pittsburgh Steelers proposed the other rule, which, if passed, will make permanent a change implemented during the 2025 season that allowed teams to have one video or phone call (for no longer than an hour) with up to five prospective unrestricted free agents during the two-day negotiation window that precedes the start of the new league year,” Bobby Kownack of NFL media writes. “Teams would also be permitted to make travel arrangements with those players upon agreeing to terms.”

With the legal tampering period being such a big part of free agency, and when we see a good number of big deals get done, it fees imminent that this rule gets passed.
