Philadelphia Union announced today they have signed Union II players Giovanny Sequera and Malik Jakupovic to short-term agreements ahead of Wednesday night’s Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 match at Club América.
The duo were added previously added to the club’s Concacaf Competition roster in Round One and made apperances in the second leg of their series against Defence Force F.C.
Per the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup Regulations, each roster can have a maximum of 35 players. If a club’s roster does not include the maximum then additional players may be added provided the maximum players is not exceeded. In addition, per the 2026 MLS Roster Rules and Regulations, may sign a player, age 25 or younger during the league season, from its affiliate (MLS NEXT Pro) to a maximum of four Short-Term Agreements (up to four-day contracts) each season (maximum of 16 days).
This marks the third call-up for both Union II players with Sequera having signed a short term agreement for the Union’s MLS match against the San Jose Earthquakes on March 7th while Jakupovic’s other call-up was for the first leg of the CCC Round of 16 against Club América.
