A Pennsylvania woman who voted for Donald Trump in three consecutive elections publicly turned on the president during a televised interview on March 18, blaming him for rising gas prices tied to the ongoing war with Iran.

The expletive-filled exchange aired on NBC’s Meet the Press NOW, which showed a raw moment of voter frustration in a region that helped deliver Pennsylvania to Trump in 2024. With fuel costs climbing as Operation Epic Fury continues, some former supporters are questioning their choices.
The outlet’s reporter was speaking with voters in Millersburg, about 25 miles north of Harrisburg. The area sits inside Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, which Trump carried 52% to 47% in the last election. When Allen asked Amanda Robbins what message she would send to Donald Trump directly, she responded: “You are a worthless pile of s***.”
The reporter reminded Robbins that she had voted for Trump three times. Her reply was immediate: “That was my bad. Apparently, I’m an idiot.” Additionally, Robbins went on to criticize both the rising cost of living and the broader rationale for U.S. involvement in overseas conflicts. In many words, it describes the economic strain some voters now associate with the administration’s foreign policy decisions.
AAA data from the time of the interviews showed Pennsylvania’s average regular gas price at $3.758 per gallon. That is an increase from $3.664 the previous week and a big jump from $3.108 just one month earlier. These increases are directly linked to the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, which Donald Trump’s administration has named Operation Epic Fury (via Newsweek).
For voters already concerned about household budgets, the price at the pump has become a daily reminder of distant military engagements. However, several other Pennsylvanians interviewed during the same segment expressed continued support for Donald Trump’s approach.
