We were excited to be a part of the action at the 4th Annual Philly Bike Ride, an event that celebrates cycling, community, and car-free streets with the backdrop of our beautiful city of Philadelphia!

This year’s ride hosted more than 6,000 riders from across the country and welcomed several riders from across the globe! Philly Bike Ride gave cyclists of all backgrounds the rare chance to cruise through the city’s iconic streets and waterfronts, building community along the car-free 20-mile route, promoting fun and accessibility to seasoned riders and first-timers alike.

From the early morning meet up at Sedgley Porter House, our BCYC youth headquarters, to rolling out at the Philadelphia Museum of Art to Center City, to the scenic turns along the Schuylkill River, every mile was filled with energy, music and views that remind us of the gem that Philadelphia is for all cycling enthusiasts!

BCYC had 50 youth, coaches, site supports, alumni, and community partners join the ride this year! Whether it was one of our first-time riders crossing the finish line with pride or alumni coming back to support the next generation, BCYC showed up strong, proving once again the power of bikes to build confidence, community, and joy!

The ride wrapped up with a festive celebration at Eakins Oval, where BCYC youth enjoyed music, food, stretching, and VIP lounge access, where they bonded and deepened their camaraderie! We are so grateful for events like Philly Bike Ride where our youth are able to enjoy the friendships and bonds they’ve built within their respective school teams and beyond, and we look forward to more of these moments in the future!

Coach AC, one of our amazing coaches and supporters at Multicultural Academy Charter School, did an awesome job on the big stage sharing with the crowd the importance and impact of programs like BCYC, and introduced some of our BCYC youth and All Stars to share how being a part of our program inspires them!

We’d like to give a major thanks to the event organizers, volunteers, city agencies, and the amazing community of sponsors who made this unforgettable experience possible for all participants, especially our BCYC community!
