We’re always so proud to mention that we get to celebrate all 4 seasons here in Western New York. But there are really 5 when you include construction season.
Construction season is one of the necessary evils in life. It can be a HUGE inconvenience, but without it, our roads would be even worse than they are. We should consider ourselves lucky that we’ve got people who are out in the wind and rain and even in the blistering sun to help make our roadways safer, and more comfortable to drive.
This weekend, we’ve got a bunch of single lane road closures to be aware of:
Amherst: Bailey Ave: Grover Cleveland highway to Sheridan Drive (Road Rehabilitation from March 23 – May 15)
Boston: Lower East Hill Rd: Omphalius Road to Wohlhueter Road (Utility Work from March 16 – March 23)
Cheektowaga: Borden Rd: near French Road to Strasmer Rd (Road Rehabilitation & Reconstruction from March 16 – May 15)
Concord: Sharp Street: Middle Road to North Street (Utility Work from March 30 – April 3)
Evans: Eden Evans Center Rd: Townline Rd to Versailles Plank Road (Utility Work from March 16 – March 25 from 7 am – 5 pm)
Hamburg: McKinley Pkwy: Southwester Blvd to Quinby Drive (Road Rehabilitation from March 23 – November 30)
Lackawana: Abbott Rd: Dorrance Ave to Elmview Ave (Utility Work from February 2 – March 31st from 8 am – 3:30 pm)
Tonawanda/Kenmore: Elmwood Ave: Kenmore Ave to Knoche Rd (Full Road Rehabilitation & Reconstruction from March 16 – April 2027)
Erie County has an interactive road status map
If you ever want to check on the status of a road, there is a map that will show you all of the road closures. It can help you during construction season and even when there’s extreme weather and roads need to be closed for safety. Click here for the map.
