The Old Forge boys basketball has won 9 games in a row and after last night’s 16-point win over United the Blue devils will play for the double A state championship.

It’s the first time Old Forge has made the finals since 1932 as they seek to win the title against Sewickley Academy from district 7.

Cam Parker, Old Forge Senior says, “ You know, finally just getting to this goal. It’s just feels amazing because we’ve just worked so hard for this. And we know everybody, ll the coaches have worked very hard for this, and we’re just very grateful to be in the position we are today.

Bob Ide asks , And, you know, this community always supports the athletics. But what about the support you’ve been receiving and especially on last night’s game?

Parker answers, “ You know, our school has been behind us throughout this whole thing. Our principal, our families, everybody. And, you know, it feels great to have have them right behind us, cheering us on, knowing they believed us this whole way. From the first game to now, all the losses, all the wins. They really believe in us and it really helps. “

Ide asks, What do you expect to see from your team and the other team on Friday?

JJ Thomas, Old Forge coach responds “Well, I expect us, you know, to to come out with the same, intensity and the same attitude that we had against Delone Catholic and, obviously United.

Sewickley is a great team and, be a great test for us. And we’re not traveling all the way to Hershey to lose. So, we’re going to, prepare the best we can and and give it our shot.

Old Forge will take the floor Friday at the Ginat Center in Hershey at 2pm.
