READING, Pa. – The 35th annual Berks Jazz Fest kicked off with an awards ceremony Thursday night.

The Berks Arts Award Night honored the winners of the Pagoda Award, the Frank Scott Award and more.

It also featured the “Art of Jazz” exhibit.

Friday, the big kickoff luncheon will be held at the Peanut Bar.

The jazz fest is typically 10 days of live music and events at concert venues, churches, schools and restaurants.

This year, the festival is expanding, with events planned through April.
