LOWER MERION — Lower Merion School District officials are planning to begin developing a new strategic plan for the district.

District Superintendent Frank Ranelli announced the district’s plans at the school board’s August meeting.

According to Ranelli, the district has contracted with a team from the Chester County Intermediate Unit to develop the new strategic plan for the district.

“We already met with representatives from the CCIU to discuss the basics, timeline, expectations, planning, and things like that,” Ranelli said.

According to Ranelli, the process is expected to run from October to April of 2026 and will be well-advertised.

A board report will be issued in May 2026. They expect to hold four public meetings, a community survey, and staff student participation.

“It’s an exciting process that’ll look to shape the goals we have for the next five years,” Ranelli said.
