Joseph Metz an Oil City man that had been charged with animal-cruelty has been released from the Venango County prison Thursday, March 19.
The case is still active at this time and will continue in a higher court. During a preliminary hearing on Wednesday March 18, the district judge decided that the case will continue due to enough evidence being discovered. His bail was set to $15,000.
In January Metz had been seen on video throwing a dog, now known as Fern, down on the ground.
The shelter Precious Paws Rescue in Franklin would like to remind the community that Fern is still available for adoption and applications for her or any of the animals at the shelter can be filled out here.
