PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Adan Market 2, on East Warrington Avenue in Allentown, for numerous health code violations.

A recent inspection found the following:

Several bags of Cheetos, Funyuns, and popcorn were chewed by mice.Candy bars and Rolos stored in the rear storage area were chewed by mice.Rodent droppings were found in chip display boxes at the service counter, in contact with bags of chips; in a box of sunflower seeds in the rear storage room; along the perimeter of the walls in the hallway behind the service counter; on the wooden shelves in the rear storage room.

Also, one skeletonized mouse was observed stuck to a glue board under the shelving in the rear storage
room.

All foods in the grocery aisle were covered in dust.

Shelves in the beverage cooler had an accumulation of black material.

A restaurant with a consumer alert placard is allowed to operate for a temporary period not exceeding 10 days. Another inspection is conducted either prior to the expiration of the temporary period upon request of the eatery owner or on the tenth day.
