FLEMINGTON, N.J. – A judge in New Jersey on Friday ordered a man from Florida who was wanted for a kidnapping in Ohio to be released before he heads to trial.
Hunterdon County’s prosecutor wanted Asad Hasanov imprisoned bail.
Hasanov was caught on March 5 at a truck stop in Bloomsbury.
He’s accused of meeting a woman online and kidnapping her in Akron, Ohio.
Authorities say he bound the woman with tape, drove her across multiple state lines, and sexually assaulted her.
Hasanov is due back in court next month.
