Among the many teams that need to figure out their quarterback situation, the Arizona Cardinals are at the top of the list.

The idea of Aaron Rodgers landing with the Cardinals may seem unlikely, but it’s a scenario that could make some sense if Arizona believes it has a chance to win next season. Chris Wassel of Sports Illustrated proposed the idea, but noted that unless Rodgers is content with not being on a very good team, the idea might not make sense.

“The chances are a very long shot at best but the possibilities are at least there. Arizona represents as a decent option given the coaching tree from Rodgers. Still, this is one of those far-reaching options at best.

“Realistically, the Cardinals are projected to finish last in a stacked NFC West. Would Rodgers want to take a potential beating in 2026?”

From a team standpoint, there are some ties that make the pairing possible. However, the bigger question is whether the roster has any chance to win. Arizona has some pieces, but are in a position where it likely won’t win a whole lot next season.

At this stage of his career, joining a rebuilding team doesn’t make a whole lot of sense from his perspective or the team’s.

Rodgers has yet to announce whether he plans to play next season.
