NEWTON TWP., LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a reported sexual assault that allegedly occurred early Saturday morning in Lackawanna County.
According to authorities, troopers were called to the area of Newton Road around 3:20 a.m. Investigators say a group of individuals, all under the age of 21, had gathered on private property where alcohol was being consumed.
Police say a 19-year-old woman from Jefferson Township reported that she was sexually assaulted during the gathering.
Few details have been released, and investigators have not said how many people were present or whether any suspects have been identified.
State police say the investigation remains active.
