Allegheny County police are urging travelers not to leave their pets behind. This is after a situation that led to the abandonment of a chocolate lab puppy at Pittsburgh International Airport. Investigators say the puppy was found running loose at the departure curb Friday.Officers identified 42-year-old Omar Perez, of Texas, as the person who left the dog. Police say Perez initially claimed that he witnessed an Uber driver leave the dog. It was then discovered that Perez abandoned the dog after realizing he could not fly with it. The dog is now in a foster home and is doing OK.Officers said, “Don’t leave your pets behind. We will investigate and we will file charges.”Perez is facing multiple charges, including animal abandonment and animal cruelty.
