SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Some kids in Berks County are celebrating Easter a little early.
Wilson High School in Spring Township hosted its fifth annual “Egg-Stravaganza” on Saturday on its football field.
More than 100 special needs children took part in the egg hunt.
The event featured over 6,000 eggs filled with candy, and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny.
Organizers explained why it was dedicated to special needs kids only.
“Just seeing kids not be able to get enough eggs, I think we were really like, ‘Oh, I think we should definitely do something just for them so that they can get their own chance to shine,'” said Lily Schneider, President of the Wilson High School Interact Club.
The kids took home at least 20 eggs each, as well as prizes and gifts.
