On Friday night, the Philadelphia Phillies tied the Detroit Tigers (4-4) in their most recent spring training game.

They are currently playing the Baltimore Orioles (on Saturday afternoon).

After two more exhibition games, the Phillies will begin their 2026 MLB season on March 25 when they host the Texas Rangers.

During Saturday’s game, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reported that the Phillies had made a trade with the Cleveland Guardians.

Stebbins wrote: “The Guardians have traded infielder Carter Kieboom to the Phillies for cash.”

Keiboom is coming off a season where he appeared in just three games for the Los Angeles Angels.

Keiboom was the 28th pick in the 2016 MLB Draft.

He spent his first five years with the Washington Nationals.

Over 136 career games, the 28-year-old has batted .200 with 12 home runs, 43 RBI’s and 57 runs.

The Phillies are coming off a year where they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS.

Meanwhile, the Guardians lost to the Detroit Tigers in the AL Wild Card.
