WEST READING, Pa. – The sweet sounds of jazz fills the air on the second day of Jazz Fest.
“This will be our 35th year for Berks Arts. This is just wonderful. I can’t even describe the feeling, but it’s wonderful,” said executive director of Berks Arts, Tish Davis.
Rita Fredericks has been a volunteer for the festival for over 20 years.
“I love jazz,” said Fredericks. “This is an opportunity not only to be in the presence of a lot of jazz people, people that also enjoy jazz, but also to experience some of the awesome jazz musicians that come through Berks County.”
This year there is a very impressive line up for the festival.
“When you have the talent that is on the stage and throughout the whole festival it’s just a wonderful thing,” said Davis.
Fredericks said, “Berks County has probably one of the best jazz fests around.”
The festival is spread out across several venues.
“If you love jazz and even if you don’t, this is an opportunity to be introduced to it and be introduced to so many wonderful people,” said Fredericks.
It’s the people and music that keep fans coming back year after year.
Charles Sanders who has been going for over 30 years said, “It’s like a family reunion.”
Berks Jazz Fest runs through March 29th.
