A Philadelphia man is in custody in Delaware for allegedly committing several burglaries and thefts at local businesses this month.
58-year-old Frederick Fenton broke into an Exxon station in the 2600 block of Ogletown-Stanton Road back on March 8th and took an undisclosed amount of cash, Delaware State Police said.
A week later, Fenton hit White Clay Liquors on Ogletown-Stanton Road, where he stole cash and several packs of cigarettes early that morning, and that night, he broke into Country Tobacco on the Kirkwood Highway and stole more cash.
Investigators learned Fenton, who drove a dark-colored pickup truck, wore a mask when he committed the crimes, and switched license plates in an effort to avoid being caught.
He’s also accused of “casing” at least one of the businesses before the break-ins.
Troopers pulled Fenton over Friday and arrested him without incident–he’s being held at the Howard Young Prison.
