DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch on Sunday for parts of central and western Pennsylvania.

The watch was issued at 3:43 p.m. and is valid until 10 p.m., according to the NWS. For central Pennsylvania, the watch includes Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Juniata, Mifflin and Perry counties.

Parts of Maryland and Ohio are also included in the watch.

The NWS said wind gusts up to 75 mph and scattered hail up to 2 inches in size are likely. It also said tornadoes are possible.

A severe weather watch only means that hazardous weather is possible and is intended to allow people to plan in case a storm hits.
