Oven fire causes closure of bakery in Scranton

The National Bakery along Capouse Avenue in Scranton will be closed until an inspector can clear the facility.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Around midnight on Sunday, crews in Scranton responded to a fire at the national bakery along Capouse Avenue. 

Investigators say the fire was confined to one of the bakery’s ovens, and the building was not damaged.

The national bakery will remain closed until an inspector can clear the facility.
