BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A store offering a variety of tasty eats will soon end operations in Northampton County.
The brick-and-mortar location of A Couple Craves, offering locally sourced charcuterie, sliders, cheesy pretzel bites and more, is set to close on Saturday, March 28, at 3 W. Broad St. Suite 6 in downtown Bethlehem.
“We truly enjoyed our time in downtown Bethlehem — the community and the people we met over the past two years meant a lot to us and made it difficult to step away,” owner Andrew Kehm told 69 News.
“This was not an easy decision. When my sister and I took over the place fully in November of 2024 we intended to stay for the long haul but due to rising rent costs and low foot traffic on Broad Street, we had to make the call. The good news is that our online business has remained strong, and we’re actively working on keeping that going so our customers can continue to enjoy their favorite items like our charcuterie spreads, sliders, and charcuterie sushi.”
Kehm is ironing out details regarding how online operations will be conducted following the shop’s closure, and individuals should monitor the business’ website, acouplecraves.com, for future updates.
“We also want to sincerely thank everyone who walked into our store just to say hello — it meant more than you know,” Kehm said. “A special thank you as well to the Chamber for including us in so many great events. The Bethlehem Farmers Market was definitely a highlight for us.”
A Couple Craves opened in May 2024 in a renovated space on the ground floor of a retail and office building, a few doors down from Twisted Olive and across the street from the Dream Boyd Theatre mixed-use complex.
Premium meats and cheeses – including savory, spicy and sweet varieties – are sourced from several farms and producers in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding region, and customers can choose from a wide array of customizable options.
In addition to meats and cheeses, selections include a balanced mix of other items, including nuts, jelly, honey, fruits, vegetables, herbs and crackers.
Meatless vegetable charcuterie options, featuring additional cheese or cheese spread, are also available.
Individuals can choose from various size options – including boxes suitable for a few people and boards suitable for large parties, and unique displays – including letters and numbers – are available for further customization.
A Couple Crave’s charcuterie options are great for a wide array of social gatherings.
“Whether you’re planning an office lunch, hosting friends for a night in, celebrating a special occasion, or simply craving a beautifully crafted spread, A Couple Craves has you covered,” a message on the business’ website reads.
“We specialize in handcrafted charcuterie boxes made with premium meats, cheeses, and thoughtfully paired accompaniments. Each box is designed to bring people together and make entertaining easy.”
A Couple Craves also offers cheesy pretzel bites, with a buttery crust and gooey cheese inside; slider boxes, featuring an assortment of Black Forest ham and Swiss cheese, oven-roasted honey maple turkey and mozzarella cheese, and black steer top round pastrami and pepper jack cheese (with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and spreads); and sushi charcuterie, a gourmet twist on classic sushi featuring the delicate saltiness of prosciutto with creamy mozzarella and peppery arugula, all balanced by a touch of honey and rich balsamic drizzle (choose from sun-dried tomatoes for a tangy burst, sweet apricots for a fruity contrast, or the original blend that highlights each ingredient’s natural flavor).
A store closing sale is currently underway, and customers can shop a variety of remaining merchandise along with store fixtures and equipment such as furniture, kitchen appliances, cookware and bakeware and artwork and other decor.
Deals include using code “CHEESY26” at checkout to receive a free craveable cheesy pretzel bite with your purchase of a large or party charcuterie box; using code “CRAVE26” at checkout to receive 20% off your next catering order; and using code “DELIVERY26” at checkout to receive free delivery.
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
“After much thought & reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our storefront,” a message on the business’ website reads.
“This little space has meant more to us than we can put into words. The memories, the laughter, the community – we are forever grateful. Everything in the store is for sale and must go. Help us lighten the load as we prepare our next chapter.”
