BETHLEHEM, Pa. – From packed car show floors to an inaugural gala for children’s charities, this year’s Lehigh Valley Auto Show is finishing in the fast lane.

“The auto show has been very exciting,” said Kristi Moyer.

People packed the floor for the final day of this year’s show in Bethlehem, checking out cars of all kinds, including the ones at Kristi Moyer’s booth.

“It makes me so happy to see other people appreciate all the hard work we put into these cars. You know, the other day I had a lot of other kids walk over to this area and the look on their faces they were like, “oh my gosh look at this,” said Moyer.

Another popular attraction at this year’s auto show has been the pit crew challenge. Around 100 people are getting to experience what it is like to be in a NASCAR pit.

“This year has been amazing. The theme this year is accelerating excellence and boy did we push through to the end,” said Tiffany Sondergaard of the Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association (GLVDA).

Sondergaard said the impact has been felt beyond the show floor.

“GLVDA since 1996 has given back $1.9 million back into the community through youth organizations, for nonprofits, through student and career exploration activities,” said Sondergaard.

She said around $70,000 was donated to children’s charities at this year’s gala and show organizers are already planning for next year.

“I hope that people understand GLVDA is here in the community to help the community itself, to help the children, to help its residents and help us all have a greater impact in others around us,” said Sondergaard.
