A teenager was seemingly struck by stray gunfire as he attended a block party in North Philadelphia on Sunday night, police said.

According to police, officers learned of the shooting after receiving a call along the 2200 block of North 22nd Street at about 10:53 p.m. on Sunday.

However, upon arrival at the scene, officials said, the officers learned the teen was taken to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle.

An investigation into the incident found that the teen was attending a block party when the teen victim heard multiple gunshots and soon realized he had been struck in the arm.

A passerby helped transport the teen to the hospital, officials said.

No motive is yet known by investigators in this incident and, police said, no arrests have yet been made.

But, an investigation, officials said, is underway.
