FORECAST SUMMARY
High pressure will take a hold of our weather pattern leading to more dry days and seasonably cool afternoons into early next week. The weekend will feature partly sunny skies and afternoon highs in the middle to upper 50s. The quiet pattern lasts into the start of next week; however, it finally looks like some wet weather is on the way for the second half of the week. It’s been pretty dry since September and the newest drought monitor illustrates those results. A moderate to severe drought has extended more into the Lehigh Valley and western New Jersey. We’ll have to keep an eye on the timing of rain, especially around trick or treat nights!
DETAILED FORECAST
WEEKEND
There may be some patchy frost early Saturday morning otherwise the weekend will feature a mix of sun and clouds both days. Seasonably cool temperatures will continue with highs in the mid to upper 50s and nights in the middle and upper 30s.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY
High pressure remains in control of our pattern heading into the final week of October. No notable changes are expected into the start of the new week as temperatures stay the same and it remains dry. Highs will remain in the 50s with nights in the chilly 30s with some patchy frost possible.
LATER NEXT WEEK
Finally, the pattern will change as an area of low pressures is set to bring some much-needed wet weather. So, expect some rain or a few showers as early as Tuesday night but Wednesday and Thursday look to be the better days for widespread rain. As of now, the wet weather should wrap up heading into Friday so we’ll keep a close eye on the forecast for trick-or-treaters Halloween night!
