ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A man faces 10 to 20 years in state prison after pleading guilty to a 2023 homicide in Allentown.

John Albert Garner, of Allentown, made a plea deal and plead guilty on Thursday to Voluntary Manslaughter–Unreasonable Belief, according to a news release from the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.

In July 2023, the body of Alexander Mason Price was found on the floor of his room by a man who said he had not heard from Price for several days and went to check on him.

Price, who was 29 at the time, died from blunt force head trauma, and his death was ruled a homicide by the Lehigh County coroner.

The DA’s office said the investigation revealed that Garner attacked Price and caused the fatal injuries.

Garner fled from Allentown after the killing and was arrested Oct. 24, 2023, in Scranton by Allentown Police and Lehigh County Homicide Task Force detectives. He was taken into custody with assistance from Scranton Police and the U.S. Marshals Eastern PA Violent Offenders Task Force.

Garner has remained in custody since his arrest.
