READING, Pa. – A man found guilty of assaulting a three-year-old boy in 2021 has leaned his fate.
Elijah Matias will spend the next seven-and-a-half to 20 years in prison.
An investigation found the toddler was in the care of Matias just before he went into respiratory distress.
The boy later died.
An autopsy found multiple internal and external injuries that were in various stages of healing.
Matias was found not guilty of murder.
