A man is in custody after shots were fired at a convenience store on Pittston Avenue on Monday evening, according to Scranton Police Chief Tom Carroll.
The masked man entered the US Mini-Mart at 702 Pittston Ave. at about 5:45 p.m. armed with a handgun and approached the store clerk, who was armed with a pistol.
The two exchanged fire but no one was hit, Carroll said.
The suspect fled police on foot and was shortly after taken into custody. Both weapons were retrieved.
