BEECH MOUNTAIN LAKES – A Scranton man is facing charges after police say he led them on a foot chase and later bailed out of an ambulance.

Landon Davis, 29, of Scranton, is facing public drunkenness and related charges, filed by Butler Township (Luzerne County) Police.

According to the department, officers were called to the Beech Mountain Lakes development just before 2am Thursday after a vehicle was found in a ditch. The driver of the vehicle told a witness he was “on the run” and had a firearm.

The man, later identified as Davis, ran into the woods. Officers spotted him and he ran again, they said, hiding behind a storage shed.

A drone was launched and Davis was found and taken into custody.

Officers said he had a head injury and was checked out by Valley Regional EMS.

Davis was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

On the way, police say he became combative and bailed out of the ambulance near Church and 15th Street, near the Hazleton Police Department, and was taken back into custody by HPD officers who accompanied him to the hospital.
