JESSUP, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A meeting on a proposed data center in Jessup was rescheduled. The meeting was over a request by the builders to extend the height of the already approved 487,000 square foot data center from the maximum height of 50 feet to a requested 90 feet. A public hearing was meant to start at 6 P.M. but had to be rescheduled after zoning hearing board received a call from the applicant’s attorney.

“About two hours ago, I had a request from the applicant’s attorney,” explained Mario Hanyon, zoning solicitor for the Jessup zoning hearing board. “The request was to continue the hearing due to a family emergency for one of their witnesses. So, as a courtesy, the board has agreed to grant that request and hopefully the situation’s not too, too troublesome for the witness.”

The meeting, which lasted less than 5 minutes, consisted of formalities – writing into the record the rescheduling, or continuance, of the meeting at a later date. The date of the rescheduled meeting has to be approved by all parties, but the zoning hearing board estimated that it will be held in about three to four weeks.
