READING, MA — The Select Board voted unanimously to approve a separation agreement with Town Manager Matthew Kraunelis, effectively ending his tenure, according to Reading Recap.
The two sides were unable to reach an agreement to continue his employment. A statement from the Select Board thanked Kraunelis for “his achievements and contributions” to the town.
The board authorized Town Counsel Ivria Fried to negotiate with Assistant Town Manager Jayne Wellman to serve as acting town manager, according to The Reading Observer.
The board is expected to reconvene next week to review a possibly approve a contract for the position.
