March 27 and 28 the American Cornhole Organization (ACO) will bring a cornhole competition to Erie. Professional and amateur cornhole players are invited to the Bayfront Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Players are expected to come from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Pennsylvania to participate. The competition includes singles, doubles, women’s, seniors, juniors and coed divisions.
“This event brings top level cornhole competition to Erie and showcases the city as a destination for nationally sanctioned tournaments,” said Frank Geers, president of the American Cornhole Organization. “The Erie Major gives players the opportunity to earn valuable ranking points while connecting athletes from regions across the country in one location.”
ACO Major tournaments like this one allow for award national ranking points and prize payouts, with results contributing toward qualification for the World Championships.
