SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A 17-year-old is being charged in connection to the Feb. 12 shooting and death of a teenage boy, according to Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian Gallagher.

Gallagher said 17-year-old Kamdyn Okrah will be tried as an adult for his involvement in the death of 16-year-old Dylan Smith.

Okrah is being charged with possession of a firearm by a minor. Okrah is joined by one other teen and Mariah Cortes of Duryea, 24, in being charged in connection to the incident.

According to Gallagher, Smith, Okrah, and others were at Okrah’s residence consuming alcohol and marijuana while handling a stolen gun.
