PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — This Philly nonprofit is showcasing how anyone can make a difference using the small things in life.
“Small Things Inc.” has three free food markets in the area where people in need can shop weekly.
“We prioritize what we call the ‘dignity of choice.’ We have a way that people can choose and pick the food that they would eat. This way, it cuts down food waste, it promotes dignity, it empowers people, and it really allows them to prepare the meals that they would like to eat,” said Vito Baldini, Executive Director.
“Last year, we served about 16,000 people in this neighborhood. And we’ve really become a part of the community here,” he continued.
