The Philadelphia Eagles and general manager Howie Roseman have had a fairly quiet NFL offseason thus far. That doesn’t mean they aren’t open to making a sizable move.

With the 2026 NFL Draft under a month away, the Eagles will have opportunities to make improvements to the roster. However, there is other buzz beginning to rise about a potential move that Philadelphia could consider making.

That buzz would include the Eagles jumping into the Maxx Crosby trade sweepstakes.

Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky believes that Philadelphia should pursue a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for Crosby.

“I would also put the Eagles in that conversation,” Orlovsky said. “I will just reiterate the point. Howie Roseman, their general manager, is notorious for getting value on the market. Saquon Barkley was cheaper than he should’ve been. Landon Dickerson went later in the draft than he should have. Jalen Carter went later in the draft than he should have because their value had decreased. This just feels like a Howie Roseman-type of situation eventually.”

Maxx Crosby Has Had a Rollercoaster NFL Offseason

Shortly after the NFL offseason opened for business, the Raiders agreed to a trade that would have sent Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for two first-round picks.

While the deal seemed to be done, the Ravens opted to back out before it became official. They retained their two first-round picks and pivoted to signing Trey Hendrickson. That has left Crosby back in Las Vegas.

Reports have suggested that the Raiders and Crosby are comfortable remaining together moving forward. However, it seems that the team is still listening to trade offers.

Would it be wise for the Eagles to jump in and make a push to acquire the superstar pass rusher?

Eagles Badly Need to Address Their Pass Rushing Situation

Orlovsky is right about this kind of move being right up Roseman’s alley. If Las Vegas is still seriously open to the idea of trading Crosby, Philadelphia should absolutely have interest.

After losing Jaelan Phillips in free agency to the Carolina Panthers, the Eagles have the need. Trading two first-round picks or something close to that for Crosby would be worth the investment.

Right now, the championship window is open in Philadelphia. Roseman and the front office should stop at nothing when it comes to pursuing a second Super Bowl in short succession.

Outside of the Eagles, there are still a few teams consistently coming up as potential Crosby trade suitors. A few of those teams are the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and New England Patriots. Philadelphia should be thrown into that mix.

Whether or not Roseman actually has interest in trading for Crosby remains to be seen. That being said, having an opportunity to acquire a proven superstar pass rusher with 69.5 sacks in seven seasons doesn’t come around very often.
