Reece joined Reading FC on a two-year deal last summer having last been registered professionally with Queen’s Park in Scotland.
The 20-year-old spent over a decade with Leicester City in which time he earned international honours with Northern Ireland’s U19 side – He would climb through the ranks with the foxes playing for the U18s and U21s, scoring 13 goals and registering an assist in that time.
After leaving Leicester in the summer of 2024, he would go on trial with Reading FC’s U18 side, where he would register a goal in four appearances. Evans impressed and would then go on to join up the Royals U21 side on a short-term basis and score two goals in four appearances.
The young striker would grab the attention of Scottish Championship side Queen’s Park, Reece would make a scoring debut for the Queen’s Park B Team when he joined the outfit in September 2024.
When he joined the Spiders, their Director of Football Darren O’Donnell said: “As part of the club’s recruitment strategy, we look at not only local talent but talent outside of Scotland for both B & 1st team players. It is important we have different profiles for each position as part of our club strategy.
“Reece is another very good example of this approach, in that his profile is a number 9 who is good at linking the play & plays on the shoulder of defenders, fitting an area that we felt we needed to focus on. I am confident that he will produce for the B Team and push for the First Team football soon.”

The then 19-year-old would go on to make 13 appearances for the Spiders and scoring two vital goals in the SPFL Trust Trophy semi-finals against East Kilbride FC to secure a 6-2 victory in additional extra time.
After his stint up north, the striker would return to Reading FC and sign a two-year deal in July 2025 – joining up with Peter Scott’s U21s. Reece would go on to make his debut for the Royals in their EFL Trophy defeat to Swindon last September under Noel Hunt.
This season so far the forward has made 25 appearances for Scott’s side, scoring seven goals in the Premier League 2 – including a hattrick against Stoke City in February.
Speaking to the Chronicle, Reece said: “It’s been good. We’ve had a really positive start so far. Scored six goals so far in, I think, 12 appearances.
“Some coming off the bench, some starting. I think so far, as we’ve got on with the season, the boys have really progressed, me personally as well, with my individual performances and scoring goals and contributing to the team and just helping us get wins.”
When asked about how he has found the move to Reading after being in Scotland, he said: “It has been brilliant. The boys have welcomed me in really well.
“All the staff and my teammates and I think I’ve just adjusted well. Coming from another Cat 1 background into another Cat 1 club, I think it’s been a really positive environment for me to be in and I’m just trying to kick on from here.”
He added: “My goal really is to break into the first team. Whether that means to go on loan to get more first team experience and men’s football. If that’s what I need to do, then that’s what I’ll do but at the minute, kind of just staying in the 21s until the end of the season and just see what next season brings.”
Reece has since joined Torquay United on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season.
